My query is I think slightly different in that I have not as yet deleted or altered ay of my partitions as I used a hard disk manager to check them before I took any further action. I quickly recognized that there was a complicated setup on the hard disk (4 partitions already) and that touching this was likely to muck it up so I left it alone. Having now found this site, I think I can now proceed to partition my hard disk with a little bit of help. Firstly as I have already stated I have not touched the hard disk so far and it is in the original condition.

Then I found this OKR DVD and created the OEM partition successfully. Now My HDD has the follwoing parition: 1. 100 MB system reserved 2. 70 GB C partition where my win7 Ultimate x64 bits are installed 3. 614 GB: D partiton where all my files are stored. 14.6 GB: OEM Reserved Partition (LENOVO_PART).

Hi grth99, in my case (lenovo Ideapad Z570) I had deleted C and D drive using win7 x64 bits DVD and created C drive of 70 GB and D drive of rest size left (614 GB in my case) and installed win7 on C. After this I shutdown the system and pressed the NOVO button (one key rescue button) and it worked without any hitch/problem. So you can also do it.

Before doing it you can have a back-up of OEM reserved parition: just download this file: and run the PTEDIT32.exe file with Administrative privilage (right click the ptedit32.exe file and select 'run as administrator'). You will get your HDD picture like this: now you have to unhide this 4th partition. For this just change the value of type at the last (4th in my case) partition to 07 and click on 'save changes' and reboot your system. See the below picture: after reboot you will see the 'lenovo_part' partition.

Just copy all the contents of this parition and save to any external media storage (other than your laptop HDD). The below picture shows the contents of this OEM reserved partition: now again run this PTEDIT32.exe and change the value of last partition 'type' to 12 like in first picture and click on 'save changes' tab and reboot your system. How do I get it to boot from the small 200MB partition? Easybcd shows the boot sector in the small 200mb partition. So my questions are:- 1. Why did deleting the recovery partition prevent booting? Can I use Easybcd to make sure it boots from the small partition? I simply want to do away with OKR and use all the space on my SSD for Windows.

Hullo, My MacBook Pro has three partitions: one for Mac OS X Tiger (Mac OS Extended (Journaled)), one for Windows Vista Business (NTFS), and a FAT32 partition for sharing information between the other two. Problem is, although the shared partition is formatted as FAT32 and Mac OS recognizes it, Windows doesn't see it. What I have to do is edit the partition table directly, changing the Type field for the shared partition to 0B, which is the identifier for a FAT32 partition. Unfortunately, I can't get PTEDIT32 to work as it always gives 'Error #5 when starting PowerQuest Engine' when I try to run it in Windows.
